HISTORY
The Levi L. Rose Priorate No. 1 was the first Princesses of the York Cross of Honor (PYCH) Priorate established in the United States and abroad. It was named after the 33rd Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Illinois, Most Worshipful Brother Levi L. Rose, who was a very influential mason within the Illinois Jurisdiction.
Grand Master Rose thoroughly supported progress of Masonic ideals across the various appendant bodies within the state. The Priorate was established and adopted by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Illinois on April 28, 2000 in a ceremony officiated by the KYCH and presided over by the 39th Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother Willie B. Evans, Sr. Only those who have been elected and served as a Worthy Matron of an OES Chapter, Ancient Matron of a Heroines of Jericho Court, Royal and Perfect Matron of a Ladies of the Circle of Perfection Court and Princess Captain of a Heroines of the Templar Crusades Guild are eligible for membership.
The first Eminent Prioress appointed to command the helm of the Priorate was Princess Ethel M. Jones, wife of the first KYCH Eminent Prior, Charles M. Jones, Jr. The charter officers included:

Recorder: Shirleyann Walker The Priorate has since expanded its membership into the States of New York, Tennessee and beyond. From this genesis, the established Priorates came together to organize a national body for the governing of the Rite.
